The stator generates a stationary magnetic field.This stationary magnetic field surrounds the armature, or rotor. The external power source excites the armature magnetic field. The speed of motor can be adjusted by changing the pulse width of PWM signal. The ratio between high and low pulse levels is called PWM signal duty ratio. The amplitude of the DC battery level is equal to the average amplitude of the PWM signal.
